The scent of a
single pine needle
which together
with a thousand others

makes the forest

When you book a room, you create time. Time to be free for anything that comes your way: thoughts, idleness, joy. Or the desire for art, crafts, sport or a walk in the woods. The Mühlviertel offers its gifts to those who are willing to receive them.

This – or something
completely different –
is what holidays
in the Mühlviertel

could look like around
the Mühltalhof:

The guests – let’s call them Tristan and Isolde – arrive on Thursday. They’re up early. On their way they notice works from HEIM.ART-Contemporary, which they stop to enjoy. One thing leads to another; in this case, Joachim Eckl leads the couple to the atelier of Thomas Paster. But now it’s time to check in, and settle in. Tristan wants to be fully rested for mountain biking in Granitland region the next day. In the mean time, Isolde goes fly-fishing. In the area of the dam on the Große Mühl, from the Langhalsen dam around 8 km to the road bridge over the Ebenmühle, or on the fly stretch of Böhmerwald? She’s not quite sure yet. Tristan suggests climbing in the Böhmerwald Adventure Park, but his wife counters: “The fisherman stays with his fish, the brewer with his beer - as they apparently say around here”. At this very moment she realises in amazement that there are three breweries very close by: the organic brewery in Neufelden, Brauerei Hofstetten and Stiftsbrauerei Schlägl. She doesn’t know if there’s a cobbler. But at Manufaktur Haslach they make lovely felt slippers. And woollen blankets right nearby. Suddenly Isolde is taken by the urge to redecorate her home in the “Mühlviertel Hygge” style. She starts to plan a shopping tour to the linen manufacturer Leitner in Ulrichsberg, to the Vieböck linen weaving works, to the natural products shop Naturfabrik Ahorn, to the blue print weaving mill Blaudruckweberei Wagner and… that’s where Tristan interjects. He would just like to spend some time with his wife and invites her to the Adler Cinema in Haslach. Isolde giggles and agrees. Whether the two still make it to the Villa Sinnenreich in Rohrbach, to the School Museam or to the golf course
